The thermal fuse ($5–$10) is a one-shot safety device that permanently opens when the dryer overheats — and unlike E64 or EAF, a blown thermal fuse often causes heat loss without triggering a stored code on standard (non-Affinity) models. Test the fuse with a multimeter for continuity. While you're in the machine, clean the lint from the entire exhaust path, as restricted airflow is what caused the overheating in the first place. Replacing the fuse without clearing the duct blockage will result in the new fuse blowing again.
